An exceptional monument to William Cecil who was chief adviser to Elizabeth I Queen England and Ireland 1533-1603.

The emblem of the Knights of the Garter on William's left shoulder.

The garter below the left knee.

The wonderfully carved lion on which William's feet rest.

Detail showing the white (assume the white paint has deteriorated) Staff of Office denoting William's role as Chief Treasurer.

Finely detailed gilded armour.
